The shape of the product
Booking Planner is a SharePoint Framework web part for visual desk and meeting room booking. The booking surface is a real floor plan with desks and rooms drawn where they actually sit, plus a list view for users who prefer to scan. Availability is colour-coded in four states, time slots are three (Morning, Afternoon, Full Day), and the maximum advance window is three months. The same plan renders inside SharePoint pages, a Teams tab, the Outlook personal app, and the Microsoft 365 home pane.
Around the booking flow sit the workflows that pull the rest of the workplace through it. Catering and AV requests land inside the room booking dialog with status tracking. Reception staff and Executive Assistants book on behalf of others through Azure AD-backed roles. On-behalf bookings can route through a shared M365 Group calendar so the team that made the booking can see them all in one place. External attendees from an Outlook calendar invite can be pre-registered as visitors, checked in at reception, and announced to their host via a Teams card.

The productised version of bespoke booking work
JFDI has been building booking platforms for clients for years. Booking Planner is the distillation of that work into a product anyone can install: the visual floor plan, the real-time availability, the QR check-in, and the admin tools that facilities teams kept asking us to build. If you are interested in the bespoke road that led here, the long-running case study at jfdi.info is a good place to start.
Where we are
Booking Planner is in pre-launch evaluation. The full Free, Standard, and Enterprise feature surface is available to pilot customers, and the Microsoft Marketplace listing is in preparation. Tier enforcement will be enforced when the licensing flow lights up alongside the Marketplace listing; until then, evaluations and pilots carry the full Enterprise surface during their trial. See the Updates page for the running record.
